Trainings

Training requirements and timelines are different for each of the CNP federal nutrition programs. Please refer to each program for policy and regulations regarding mandatory training.

Distance Training

Distance training is offered by teleconference or video when possible. Connecting to access these trainings will be posted and sent out prior to the training event.

Civil Rights Training

Civil Rights Training is offered annually to all programs. Please contact CNS for program materials for use in your agency.

Training Schedules by Program

Child and Adult Care Food
CACFP offers annual training on a regional basis in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau and through distance delivery for those who cannot attend in person. Training is provided each fall for returning institutions. It is mandatory for all CACFP sponsors to attend training.

National School Lunch
NSLP training is held each year in two locations. This training provides critical updates for to improve compliance and helpful technical assistance for program operations. Agencies scheduled for an administrative review, and new agency staffs are required to attend the annual training.

Summer Food Service
SFSP Training is offered each spring in two locations and by distance delivery. Attendance at the training workshops is required for Summer Food Service Program sponsors.

USDA Food Distribution
Two different training sessions are offered annually; the USDA Food Distribution Program and use of the CNP Web. In the fall, a general overview training session is offered and another session on ordering USDA Foods is offered late winter.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetable
FFVP Training is offered each year to new participants. Additional training is scheduled as necessary. Updates are provided at the Annual Alaska School Nutrition Conference.
